Business Improvement Area Board

The City of Auburn established the Business Improvement Area (BIA) to aid the development of the Central Business District, and facilitate merchant and business cooperation to improve trade. The Business Improvement Area Committee of Ratepayers reviews and evaluates the Auburn Downtown Association's administration of the BIA.

Member Requirements: To become a Business Improvement Area (BIA) member, you must be an owner or operator of businesses located within the BIA and whose businesses are subject to assessments.

Meetings: The BIA Committee's regular meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 PM, in Auburn City Hall Council Chambers.

LTAC Board

Auburn Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC)

The LTAC Board advises the Mayor and City Council on the imposition of the lodging tax, any increases in the amount imposed, and its use to accommodate activities for tourism. The board consists of seven members, one elected official, and an equal number of members, each from representatives of businesses required to collect the tax, and those involved in activities funded by revenue received through the tourism tax. Board members serve three-year terms.

Regular meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of April and November.

Auburn Tourism Board

The Auburn Tourism Board serves as an advisory group to the Mayor and City Council, focusing on promoting Auburn as a vibrant tourist destination. The board provides recommendations for activities, programs, and projects designed to highlight Auburn’s attractions, and supports local businesses in meeting the needs of visitors and the tourism industry.

The board consists of up to 10 members, with no specific requirements for joining. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM, in the Council Chambers at Auburn City Hall. There are five vacancies on the board, with one term ending soon. Members serve three-year terms, providing ongoing guidance to shape Auburn’s tourism landscape.
